- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪After years of good service, I took my dog for shots and a check-up recently only to find that things do not seem as good any more. Some of the staff were caring and friendly. But the front desk staff were snotty and short-tempered ... not just with me but with all clients entering the reception area. The Vet was pleasant enough, but his hands were filthy!! Not just the hands, but each of his 10 fingernails had black stuff packed under them. Sheesh!! I seriously cringed at letting him touch my dog. Whatever happened the theory that hand-washing is the first defense in stopping the spread of disease? I guess there is more money in spreading disease to animals and then charging to combat it. What a racket! My dog was given shots with those dirty hands. Then the Vet discovered my dog had one eye that was not producing enough tears causing it to be red. The Vet actually touched my dog's eye with those dirty hands and put a piece of test material into the eye after straightening it with his disgustingly filthy hands. Then he prescribed an anti-biotic eye ointment, which I purchased. I guess that is his way of preventing a serious eye infection caused by him. Interestingly, other services needed, such as nail trim and flea treatment, although recommended by this Vet, were conveniently ignored. I was told that the assistant would meet me at the front counter, which apparently meant I was being dismissed. I was happy to leave the dirty-handed Vet anyway but I found this odd. Then I figured out that most likely their other money-making policy is to have the dog brought back at a different appointment time so that they can charge for another office visit. I think I will try a different Vet instead. Hopefully there are other Vets who practice at least minimum sanitation practices. And it would be nice to find a Vet office without grumpy front desk workers too.December 20, 2016by Susie Seher
